He was predeceased by: his brother Charlie Benedict; and his stepfather Bob Belford. He is survived by: his wife Carol Smith (Hutchinson); his daughter Abigail Smith of Glasgow; his mother Fern Belford (Kurtz); his siblings, Michele Cooper and Ray Benedict; his uncle David Kurtz (Wanda); and his stepbrother Rob Belford (Anita) of Pennsylvania. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
