She was predeceased by: her parents, Oscar Coleman and Dorothy Martin Coleman; and her brothers, James, David and Robert Coleman.

She is survived by: her husband David Gilliam; her children, Tina Coleman, Elizabeth Gilliam (Justin Stucker), Robin Gilliam (Joseph Bryant) and Jeremy Joiner; and her siblings, Joseph Coleman (Gail), Martin Coleman and Golda Smith. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
