He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard Paul Anderson and Effie Defevers Anderson; his wife Ruth Ann Harlow Anderson; his siblings, Lillian Grace Jennings, Beulah May Turner and Joe Paul Anderson; and his nephew Jeff Turner.

He is survived by: his son John Michael Anderson (Kelly Settle); his nephew James Howard Jennings; and his niece Tina Turner. He is also survived by many other family members and friends.
