She was predeceased by: her parents, Waller Patterson (W. W.) and Annie Houchens Patterson; her husband James C. Lyons; her sisters, Kathryn Lockhart and Clydean Dickerson; her nieces, Roberta Dickerson Hawkins and Gloria Ann Dickerson Rutledge; her nephew Homer Elwood Lockhart; her sons-in-law, Terry M. Lowe and Robert Lee Oliver; and also Taylor Brown.

She is survived by: her children, Carolyn Oliver and James "Jimmy" Lyons, Jr.; her daughter-in-law Christine; her grandsons, James C. Lyons, III (Courtney) and Christopher Jake Lyons; her great grandchildren, Jessalyn Claire, James Bennett Lyons and Paisley Layne Dyer; her granddaughter Paula Ratliff Pedigo; her niece Marilyn Lockhart Gold; her caregivers, Jackie Jones, Rhonda Sexton, Terri Averill and Shanita Maxie; and her pets, Cupcake and Precious.
