Dorothy Jean Wathel-Buford Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dorothy Jean Wathel-Buford (Glasgow, Kentucky), who passed away on December 14, 2024, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was loved and cherished by many people including: her husband Irbel Buford; her son-in-law Ronnie; her grandson Romond; her great grandchildren, Dominique, Tamiah, Tavianna and Tavi; her son Lionel Buford; her siblings, Fannie Allen, Alberta Carey, Douglas Wathel, Earl Wathel and Ralph Wathel; her children, Roxanne Tobin (Ronnie), Rev. James Buford (Pamela), Yolanda Buford Demaree (George) and Jeff Buford; and her siblings, Barbara Wathel and Jim Wathel.
Visitation was held on Friday, December 20th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the First Baptist Church (611 S Lewis St, Glasgow, KY 42141). A funeral service was held on Friday, December 20th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the same location. After the closing of Johnson Chapel, she began worshipping at Oak Grove Church and attended regularly until Covid.
In lieu of flowers, it is requested that consideration be given to donations made in Dorothy's memory to Ralph Bunche Community Foundation, P.O. Box 865, Glasgow.
