He was predeceased by: his parents, Leslie Furlong and Millie Hawkins; his wife Sue Furlong; his siblings, Leroy Furlong, Charles Amos Furlong, James "Poke" Furlong, Alene Furlong, Jewell Furlong, Grace Smith and Annie Settle; and his siblings-in-law, Marvin Smith, Arthur Gibbons, Bill Settle, Ann Furlong and Pernie Furlong.
He is survived by: his daughters, Jody Richardson (Chad) and Katy Furlong (Nate Ferguson); his grandchildren, Dylan Wells and Melanie Richardson; his siblings, Billy Furlong, Bessie Lee Gibbons and Barbara Wooten (Thurman); and his sister-in-law Peggy Furlong. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, other family members, and close friends.
