He was predeceased by: his parents, William Cleon Martin and Angie Beatrice Mitchell Martin; and his brothers, Billy Joe Martin, Mark Martin and Robert "Butch" Martin.

He is survived by: his siblings, Bruce Martin (Sheila), Teresa Martin-Curd, Tillie Slaton and Mary Ann Martin. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
