He was predeceased by: his parents, JC Short and Maureen Short (Collins); his siblings, James Short, Wayne Short, Steve Short, Clyde Short and Ruby Chloe Eubank; his siblings-in-law, Phyllis Short, Lavonne Welch, Willie Paul Brown, Bobby Welch and Michael Grube; and his nephew Scottie Arlan Short.
He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Short (Brown); his stepdaughter Jennifer Lynn Dyer (Bobby) of Tompkinsville; his grandson Billy Michael Ray Dyer; his daughter Tonya Turner; his siblings, Barbara Cleary (Paul), Judy Short, Jackie Firkins (Tim), Ricky Short (Debbie) and Danny Short; and his siblings-in-law, Janice Short, Margie Short, Kathryn Grube, Gerene Brown and John David Brown (Syndee).
