She was predeceased by: her mother Bessie Hagan Franklin; her husband John Clinton Poteet, Jr.; her children, Rita Wilson and Mike Poteet; her grandsons, Michael David Poteet and Trenton Wilson; and her siblings, Virginia England, Evelyn Barton, Lora Monroe, Teresa Franklin, Thomas Franklin, Garnett Franklin, Richard Franklin and Murrell Franklin.

She is survived by: her children, Johnny Poteet, Karen Thompson (Emmett Barnett) and Christie Creek (Michael Jewell); her grandchildren, Mark Wilson, Timothy Wilson, Heather Wilson, Brandon Wilson, Danielle Hardin, Stephanie Scbrosky, Ashley Poteet, Amber Poteet, Ellis Poteet, J. C. Poteet, Chasity Wallace, Joshua Thompson, Trever Thompson, Stephen Mosby and Leandrea French; and her sister Katherine Morgan. She is also survived by twenty-one great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
