He was predeceased by: his parents, Joe Abb and Maude Ivy Pierce Russell; his grandchildren, Ashton and Jacob; and his siblings, Joe Lanis Russell, Nell Shockley, Lemuel Russell, Goble Russell and Louise Lemay.

He is survived by: his wife Lillian Hamilton Russell; his daughter Teresa Smith "Wayne' (Jimmy Russell "Kathy") of Glasgow; his sister Lavada Gosher of Glasgow; his grandchildren, Jeremy, Jenny, Greg, Ben, Sarah, Trista and Natilie; and his nephew James Russell. He is also survived by several other nieces and nephews.
