He was predeceased by: his parents, Creasy Grubb Smith and Joe Smith; his former wife Genetta Long Smith Prater; and his wife Rebecca Lawson Smith. He is survived by: his daughter Gwendolyn Smith; his siblings, Gladys Stewart, Martha Morse, Litha Brown, Wade Smith, Westford Smith, Alfred Smith and David Smith; his son-in-law James Hensley (Teresa); and his daughters, Teresa Hensley, Kim Smith and Shanna Smith. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
