He was predeceased by: his father Buddy Chambers. He is survived by: his mother Patricia Ann Overby Chambers; his son Maxwell Chambers of Louisville; and his siblings, Julia Hunt (Michael) of Paducah, Mark Chambers (Joni) of Paducah and Joe Pat Chambers (Erika) of Lone Oak.

Steve was a big contributor to St. Jude Children's Hospital and the family has requested donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 in lieu of flowers.
