He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Carter and Bertie Bowerman Carter; his siblings, Barbara Nell Lyon, Betty Lou Ashley, David Wayne Carter and Jerry Carter; and his granddaughter Ashley Barron.
He is survived by: his wife Lorraine Carter; his children, Crystal Carter of Benton, Melissa Dowell of Benton, Debbie Carter of Carterville, IL and Jeff Carter (Mary) of Benton; his siblings, Janie Bell Rundle of Paducah, Sandra Kay Fulks (Tommy) of Eddyville, Carolyn Jean Lewis of Calvert City, Kentucky and Gary Carter (Linda) of Cowarts, Alabama; his grandchildren, Tyler McPherson, Cristen McPherson, Jason Dale McPherson, Emily Dowell, Ethan Dowell, Cayla Dowell, Ben Dowell and J. C. Corley; and his pet Yadi. He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, December 9th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Life Celebration Center of Filbeck-Cann (1003 Poplar St, Benton, KY 42025). A funeral service was held on Monday, December 9th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
