He was predeceased by: his parents, Lester B. Holmes and Madonna M. Holmes (Curry); and his brother-in-law Earl Yocum. He is survived by: his wife Nelda Holmes of Gilbertsville, Kentucky; his sons, James L. Holmes (Debbie) of Olney, Stephen Holmes (Kelly) of Council Bluffs and Benjamin Holmes (Dawn) of Altamont; and his sister Jeanie Yocum of Effingham. He is also survived by 3 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and 1 great great-grandchild.
Memorials may go to Edgewood Cemetery or the donor's choice.
