He is survived by: his wife Melissa Benfield of Gilbertsville; his daughters, Heather Benfield of Louisville, Kentucky, Amber Walker of Louisville, Kentucky and Hannah Grimes of St. Louis, Missouri; and his siblings, Max Benfield of North Charleston and Helen Sigmon of Hickory. He is also survived by three grandchildren.
