He was predeceased by: his parents, Bernard Lacefield and Nellie Gertrude Hudgins Lacefield. He is survived by: his wife Paula Porter Lacefield; his children, John S. Lacefield (Julie) of Jacksonville, James A. Lacefield (Tammy) of Corbin and Kathy Luxemburger (John) of Louisville, Kentucky; his sister Vicki Culver of Ghent, Kentucky; his grandchildren, Dylan, Colby, Rex, Kenzie Lacefield and Kelsey Radcliff; and his great grandchildren, James and Owen Radcliff.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.
