He was predeceased by: his parents, James Gano and Marie Patterson Burton; and his brother James P. Burton. He is survived by: his wife Brenda Collins Burton; his children, Tricia Patton (Chuck) and Michael Burton (Holly); and his grandchildren, Kayla Marie Patton and Charles Thomas "Chase" Patton.
