He was predeceased by: his parents, Christine Webb Griggs and Theodore A. Griggs, Sr.; his in-laws, Lewis and Gladys Covington; and his sister Charlotte Rose.
He is survived by: his wife Betty; his sons, John Darrin Griggs (Kathy) of Tampa and Matt Griggs (Angie) of Lexington; his grandchildren, Spencer Griggs of Lexington, Delaney Griggs of Morehead, Kentucky, Ryan Sanz (Jennifer) of Buffalo and Kennan Sanz (Kim) of Tampa, Florida; his siblings, Bobby Griggs of Nicholasville, Kentucky and Sandy Pittman of Winchester, Kentucky; and his siblings-in-law, Billy Covington (Janet) of Georgetown, Judy Covington Franklin of Georgetown and Linda Thomas Givens of Georgetown.
Visitation was held on Sunday, January 12th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the First United Methodist Church (1280 Lexington Rd, Georgetown, KY 40324). A funeral service was held on Monday, January 13th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Monday, January 13th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Georgetown Cemetery (710 S Broadway St, Georgetown, KY 40324).
