He was predeceased by: his sister Erica Shi Richie; and his uncle James M. Ritchie. He is survived by: his parents, Gary Sr. Richie and Augusta Richie of Georgetown; and his siblings, Gary Jr. Richie (Michelle) of Lexington, Cassandra Peel (Carlos) of Carlisle and Michelle Willoughby of Georgetown. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.
