He is survived by: his children, Vicky Holbrook and Jesse William "Bill" Johnson; his stepson Tony Haynes; his grandchildren, Ian Alexander Holbrook and Nia Madison Holbrook; his stepgranddaughter Sophia Haynes; and his siblings, Margaret Warren (Bob), Connie Tackett (Ralph), H. T. Johnson (Rachel), Randy Johnson (Doris), Alfred Johnson (Carole) and Joe.
