She was predeceased by: her parents, Walter Lewis Akers and Elsie Mae Akers (Bryant); and her siblings, Jynemia Morris, Johnny Akers, Robert "Bob" Akers, Harold Akers, Eugene Edwards and James Akers.
She is survived by: her husband Philip Mays; her children, Brian Mays and Kelli; her son-in-law Tony Herrera; her grandchildren, Jaxon Herrera, Elliana Herrera and Alivia Mays; her sisters, Dorothy Green, Martha Grigsby and Linda Nichols (Earl Kent); her father-in-law Bob King; and her sisters-in-law, Debbie Robinson (Larry), Bobbie Sue Hudnall (David) and Linda Angel. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
