He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert Benjamin Cornett and Mary Louise Ingram Cornett. He is survived by: his wife Donna Michelle Gauze Cornett; his daughter Mikayla Dawn Cornett; his siblings, Herbert Dean Cornett (Sherry Lynn), Connie Lynn Baker (Clarence E.), Rhonda Linell Russell, Tina Louise Cornett and Deborah D. Russell; his nieces and nephews, Kelly Holtel (Alex), Kaitlin Ayers, Samuel Kaleb Cornett (Jessalynn), David Gauze (Emma), Nathan Gauze, Isaiah Cornett, Thalia Cornett, Alyssa Stacy and Jayden Stacy; and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Willow Ayers, Amelia Cornett, Ella Cornett, Lilly Holtel and Caroline Gauze.
