He was predeceased by: his father Dr. Chester Thornberry; and his sister Mary Contella. He is survived by: his son Charlie Thornberry; his mother Laura Maultby (Bill); his brother Joseph Thornberry; and his nieces and nephews, Anna Tipton (Kevin), Amy Willoughby, Brock Thornberry, Emma Thornberry and Caleb Thornberry.
