He was predeceased by: his parents, Waylen Hicks and Vela Koger Hicks. He is survived by: his wife Laura Murphy Hicks; his children, Linda, Amber, Ashley, Kelly and Stephen; his sisters, Judy McDowell (Steven) of Lawrenceburg and Barbara Gardner of Frankfort; and his grandchildren, Christian, Miles, Jacob, Nolan, Olivia, Aubrey and Alexandra.

Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Jude Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
