He was predeceased by: his parents, Cleveland Tackett and Thelma Greenup Tackett; his daughter Lillis Faye Tackett; and his siblings, Estill "Buddy" Tackett, Thelma Joyce Taylor, Wayne Tackett, Bobby Gene Tackett and Carl "Junie" Tackett.
He is survived by: his wife Bernice Watson Tackett; his children, Chuck Tackett (Sandy), Sue Sturgill (Lyle Shelton) and Brenda (Rick); and his grandchildren, Erin (Chris), Thomas, Emily, Mason, Nick, Bradley (Charity), Jessica, Chris and Scottie. He is also survived by 7 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
