He was predeceased by: his parents, Steven "Bucky" and Patsy Gregory Collins. He is survived by: his wife Brenda Faye Collins; his son Matthew Collins of Gamaliel; his grandchildren, Maggie and Andy; and his siblings, Stevie Joe Collins (Genetta) of Glasgow, Kentucky, Hope Lee Miller (Robert) of Nashville and Tiffany Faith Stoops (Jay) of Tompkinsville. He is also survived by several nieces, and nephews.

Memorial contributions may take the form of donations to assist with the funeral expenses and may be made to Bartley & Sons Funeral Home.
