He was predeceased by: his parents, Talmadge D. Butts and Emma Browne Butts; his sisters, Virginia Austin and Vivian Wolberton; his nephew David Austin; and his niece Susan Wheeler.
He is survived by: his daughter Kathy; his wife Patsy Killibrew Butts; his daughters, Katherine Butts Waycaster (David) and Jamie Butts Hicks (Mike); his grandsons, Michael Waycaster (Lauren), Blake Waycaster, Adam Hicks (Samantha) and Conner Hicks; and his great grandchildren, Ezekiel Waycaster, Olivia Waycaster, Berkley Hicks, Dawson Hicks, Sloane Hicks and Raden Woodruff. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
