He was predeceased by: his grandmother Pinson; his parent Greenville Anthony Charles; his son Johnny Charles; his siblings, Robert Charles, Jack Charles, Arvil Charles and Merdie Jane Charles; and also Pinson.
He is survived by: his wife Jacqueline "Jackie" Charles (Elswick) of Raccoon, KY; his daughter Shirley Gannon (Chris) of Raccoon, KY; his sisters, Sue Syck, Margaret Smith and Linda Bevins; his grandchildren, Kristin Keene (Tiffany) and Ashley Ratliff (Shawn); and his great grandchildren, Raelyn Ratliff, Elliott Ratliff, Zeyden Ward and Joshua Ward.
