John Lovins Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of John Lovins of Frenchburg, Kentucky, who passed away on February 8, 2025 at the age of 87. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Shade Lovins and Nokie McIntosh; his wives, Sheila Combs Lovins and Dellas Ruth Potter Lovins; his daughter Penny Lovins; and his siblings, Brian Lovins, B. G. Lovins, Garrett Lovins, Arlie Lovins, Daniel Lovins, Ima Gene Smith and Gladys Lovins.
He is survived by: his children, Everett Wayne Lovins of Frenchburg, KY, Anthony Randall Lovins of Morehead, KY, Caenon Lovins of Frenchburg, KY, Johnna Lovins (Brookelynn Daniels) of Frenchburg, KY and Kristi Potter of Frenchburg, KY; and his siblings, Mitchell Lovins of Manchester, KY, Shade Lovins, Jr. of Fredonia, KY and Rosie Johnson of San Antonio, TX. He is also survived by five grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, February 14th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Holiness Family Worship Center (22 Tom Stamper Rd, Frenchburg, KY 40322). A funeral service was held on Friday, February 14th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, February 14th 2025 at the John and Sheila Lovins Cemetery.
