He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Allen Cope and Eunice Gose Cope; his brother Forrest Ray Cope; and his brothers-in-law, George Benson and Everett Donaldson.
He is survived by: his wife Wilma Egelston of Winchester, KY; his grandchildren, Cori Beth and John Allen; his children, Steven Ray Cope of Winchester, KY, David Cope (Julie) of Frenchburg, KY and Julie Baumgardner (Mark) of Winchester, KY; his siblings, Owen Anderson Cope (Ruth) of Middletown, OH, Eunice Meryl Benson of Dayton, OH and Temple Donaldson of Mt. Sterling, KY; his grandchildren, Cori Beth Cope, John Allen Cope and Daniel Baumgardner; and his stepgranddaughters, Kimberly Smith, Valeria Smith and Rebecca Smith. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
