He was predeceased by: his parents, Alex Mitchell and Anna Mae "Hatfield" Mitchell; his son Peyton "Mikey" Mitchell; and his brothers, Edward and Clarence "Dommer" Mitchell.
He is survived by: his wife Ethel Mae "Chapman" Mitchell; his sons, Alex Mitchell (Denise Isom) and Tony Mitchell (Kirsten); his siblings, Johnny Mitchell (Debbie), Paul Mitchell (Lynn), Sussie Dotson (Noonie), Janice Thacker (Kenny), Sally Dotson, Georgie Sturgeon (Alan), Shelia Cutlip (Larry) and Wendy Ratliff (Neal); his brothers-in-law, Randy Wood (Vickie) and Carl Chapman (Jenny); his daughter-in-law Melissa Mitchell; his grandchildren, Alexis "Mitchell" Brown (Daniel), Taylor, Havanna, Braxton Mitchell, Bailey "Boo" Norman and Jonna Mitchell; and his close friends, Howard, Shawn Norman, Roscoe Church and Henry Layne. He is also survived by nieces, and nephews.
Visitation will be at the funeral home Wednesday evening from 6:00-10:00 P. M. with special services at 7:00 P. M. Due to Covid 19 we ask that you continue to practice social distancing.
