He was predeceased by: his mother Carol Ann Bentley. He is survived by: his children, James Michael Bentley Jr. of Cynthiana, Preston Bentley, Melanie Robinette (John) of Mt. Sterling and Brittany Bentley; and his grandchildren, Abigail, Allyson, Ryder Robinette, Danity Diles, Lilah, Marliegh and Nash Bentley. He is also survived by extended family and friends.
