He was predeceased by: his parents, Lucian Todd and Opel Oliver Lear; and his siblings, Ruby Lear Okley, Leola Gray, Felix Lear, Billy Lear and Robert Lear.
He is survived by: his wife Judy Ann Patton Lear; his children, Jennifer Walker (Steve) of Caldwell and Donald "Todd" Lear of Princeton; his sister Louise Nichols Reid of Princeton; and his grandchildren, Morgan Lear, Patton Walker, Presta Walker, Houston Walker and Weston Walker. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
