He was predeceased by: his father Garfield Freeman; his former wife Joyce Fay Freeman; his brothers, Douglas McArthur Freeman and Billy Wayne Freeman; his half-siblings, Jack Thaxton, Raymond Thaxton, Howard Curtis Thaxton and Creola Davenport; and his stepson Tony Escue.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Freeman; his children, Matt Freeman (Jada) of Franklin, KY, Mandy Freeman of Bowling Green, KY, Sharon Jernigan of Bowling Green, KY, Lisa Duncan of Portland, TN, Kenneth James Escue of Franklin, KY and Scotty Escue of Franklin, KY; his sisters, Juanita Faye Gibbs of Indianapolis, IN and Shirley Clowers of Franklin, KY; and his half-brother James O. Thaxton of Tucson, AZ. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
