He was predeceased by: his father William Ezra "W. E."; his stepfather Virgil Shoulders; and his brothers, Harold Burgett, Bobby Burgett, Richard Kent and Gordon Kent.
He is survived by: his siblings, Faye Lawson of Franklin, KY, Doug Shoulders of Franklin, KY, Scotty Shoulders (Gaye) of Franklin, KY and Carol Keen. He is also survived by 25 nieces and nephews, several great nieces and nephews and some great-great nieces and nephews.
