He was predeceased by: his parents, Earnest William Summers and Nobie Groves Summers; his daughter Nobie Pauline Summers; and his siblings, Bernice Bray and James "Jake" Edward Summers.
He is survived by: his wife Christine McGee Summers of Franklin; his daughter Linda Mallard of Franklin; his brothers, Carl Summers of Oakland, Leroy Summers of Franklin, Donnie Summers of Franklin, Jerry Summers of Franklin and Gary Summers of Franklin; his grandchildren, Terri Jane Goostree of Franklin and John Thomas Goostree of Franklin; and his great grandchildren, Tamara Johnson Kraft, Ashlie Henderson, Joshua White, Kelsey Goostree, Taylor Goostree and Arial Goostree. He is also survived by 4 great great grandchildren.
