He is survived by: his wife Patricia Hughes Gilmer of Franklin; his children, Alicia Gilmer of Franklin and Andy Smith of Franklin; and his sister Margaret Russell of Franklin. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
