He was predeceased by: his father Roger Dale Cothern; and his grandparents, Leonard, Martha Drake, Lawrence and Euree Cothern.

He is survived by: his wife Robbie Ann Cothern; his sons, Joshua Dale Cothern (Amanda) of Franklin, KY and Garrett Anthony Cothern of Franklin, KY; his sister Kimberly Cothern McWhorter (Steven); and his granddaughters, Jessica Jane Cothern and Riley Jo Cothern.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to Sulphur Spring Cemetery, 3265 Adairville Road.
