James Dillard Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of James Dillard of Franklin, Kentucky, who passed away on March 17, 2025 at the age of 77. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Johnnie Dillard and Lola Mae Dillard (Lovelady); and his brother Harold Dillard. He is survived by: his wife Judy Akin Dillard of Franklin, KY; his sons, Troy Dillard of Franklin, KY and Kelly Dillard (Kasey) of White House, TN; his grandchildren, McKinley and Henry; and his siblings, Wallace Dillard (Ruth Ann), Stella Curry, Jean Strode, Joe Dillard, Carolyn Miller (Rondal), Robert Dillard (Patsy), Jackie Dillard (Brenda), Jerry Dillard and Ralph Dillard (Bobbie Jo). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, March 21st 2025 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday, March 22nd 2025 from 6:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Gilbert Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc. (325 W Cedar St, Franklin, KY 42134). A funeral service was held on Saturday, March 22nd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, March 22nd 2025 at the Sulphur Spring Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may be made to the Hospice of Southern KY, 5872 Scottsville Road, Bowling Green, KY 42104 or to Salmons General Baptist Church, 4223 Bowling Green Road, Franklin, KY 42134, envelopes will be provided at the funeral home.
