He was predeceased by: his parents, William Vivian Bush and Anna Laura Heard Bush; his former wife Audrey Richey Bush; his siblings, Arnold Bush and Vivian Phelps; and his son-in-law Jamie Spears.

He is survived by: his wife Joy Warden Bush; his children, Susie Kelley (Brad) of Franklin, TN, James Bush, Jr. (Jenny) of Franklin, KY, Julie Spears of Hendersonville, TN, Amy West of Bells, TN and Jon Warden (Misty) of Auburn, KY; his grandchildren, Caitlin Kelley, Erin Davis, Lauren Kelley, Wesley Jones, Cole Spears, Taylor Spears, Kaitlyn West, Katherine West, Clay Warden, Will Warden, Lexi Caudill, Brittany Caudill, Alyssa Caudill and Landon Skaggs; his great grandchildren, Liam Jones and Brailey Brady; and his siblings, David Bush of Rockfield, KY, Lewis Bush of Bowling Green, KY and Carolyn Chapman of Bowling Green, KY..
