He was predeceased by: his parents, William Edgar Neal and Mary Etta Polson Neal; his wife Betty Jo Pedigo Neal; his sons, Ricky Paul Neal and James Edward Neal; and his siblings, James Neal (Jim), Earldean Allen, Geneva Loftis, Nannie Mae Bean, Lola Neal Yarin, Perry Neal, Elsie James and Betty Lou McGuire.
He is survived by: his children, Retha Hinton of Franklin, KY, Joe Lee Neal (Tina) of Franklin, KY and Lois Patterson (Lee) of Westmoreland, TN; his grandchildren, Dewayne Edwards, Amy Jo Walton, Jamie Neal, Carissa Marlin, Paul Neal, Missy Neal, Teri Neal, Jessica Carter, Lelyn Neal and James Lee; and his sisters, Mary Cook of Portland, TN, Evelyn Stein of Mt. Juliet, TN and Daisy Neal. He is also survived by 16 great-grandchildren.
