He was predeceased by: his parents, Garnett Odell Johnson and Barbara Harris Johnson Estes; his siblings, Sandra Keen, Toni Hicks, Ann Johnson, Mark Johnson and Steve Johnson; his stepfather David Estes; and his father-in-law Bill Cox.
He is survived by: his wife Kathy Cox Johnson of Franklin; his son J. D. Johnson; his brother Johnny Johnson (Debbie) of Franklin; his grandchildren, Sadie Holcomb (Matt), Seth Johnson (Kelsey) and Tiffany Johnson; his great grandchildren, Makenna, Oliver, Caid, Jace and Maddi; his mother-in-law Jean Cox; and his siblings-in-law, Pam Clegg (David), Kristy Hampton (Dave) and Pat Cox. He is also survived by several aunt, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
