He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Best and Hazel Mason Boyd; and his brother James Franklin Boyd. He is survived by: his close friend Mary-Miller Clarke Boyd; his children, John C. Cheshire, III of Lexington, Emily Mason Boyd Naylor (Adam) of Hunchy, Queensland and Katherine Clarke Boyd Carter of Russellville, Kentucky; and his grandchildren, Carl-Thomas Boyd Carter, Madeline Cheshire, Soul Naylor, Allyson Cheshire, Hadden Carter, Willow Carter, Riley Naylor, Maya Hazel Naylor, Nara Carter, Zola Carter and Harper Naylor.
