She was predeceased by: her parents, Authur Mayes and Lucille Mayes (Byrd); her husband Lucian Bishop Merritt; her siblings, William Mayes, Eugene Mayes, Eunice Jackson, Estel "Pokey" Mayes and Ramona Mayes; and her great grandchild Hudson Merritt.
She is survived by: her son Jasper Merritt (Barbara) of Franklin, KY; her grandchildren, Justin Merritt, Laura Merritt and Robert Murray; her great grandchildren, Austin Murray, Ethan Murray, Lucian Murray, Jack Merritt and Amelia Merritt; and her great great grandchild Grayson Murray.
