Martha Ellen Sanderson Smith Obituary

We are sad to announce that on December 1, 2023, at the age of 83, Martha Ellen Sanderson Smith (Frankfort, Kentucky), born in Franklin, Kentucky passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Orville Clay and Leona Bell Newton Sanderson; her husband Maurice Glen Smith; her brother Albert Douglas "Doug" Sanderson; her siblings-in-law, Reuben Eugene Smith, Roy Douglas Barnett, Bobby Carrier and Betty Cunningham Smith; her son-in-law Michael Paul Burke; and her great-niece Daphne LaRae Scruggs Fields.

She is survived by: her children, Jeffrey Wayne Smith (Sandy), Rebecca Ellen Smith Burke and Maurice Timothy "Tim" Smith (Jennifer); her grandchildren, Leslie "Wayne" Clay Smith, Rachel Elizabeth Ellen Bowman, Nicholas Cody Holloway (Erika), Allison Leslie Smith Mueller (Christopher), Daniel Thomas Holloway, Katlyn Jo Smith Aeh (Nathan), Marissa Nicole Miller (Dale Goins), Jameson Cade Miller (Ashley Scott), Matthew Timothy Smith (Audrey) and Clara Grace Ellen Smith; her siblings, David Earl Sanderson (Mary), Betty Carrier, Jane Barnett, Wanda Carris (Dennis), Linda Moore (Bill), Judy Wingate, Paula Round and Rosemary Sanderson; her sisters-in-law, Geri Hockensmith Sanderson and Janice Lee Smith Cunningham (David); and her nephew Michael David Cunningham. She is also survived by many nieces, and nephews.
