He was predeceased by: his parents, Willie Trent and Frances Brewer Trent; his wife Freida Lee Trent; and his sons, Jerry Allen Trent and Michael Wayne Trent.
He is survived by: his children, Rita Kay Engler (Darrell), Sherry Diane Wilson (Mark), Earl Trent Jr. (Beckie), Kenny Lee Trent (Jenny) and Norman Avis Trent (Judith). He is also survived by several grandchildren and great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
