He is survived by: his sons, Michael Mitchell, Sr. (Kim) and John Thomas Mitchell (April); his sister Dot Pacey; his grandchildren, Austin Burchett, Michael Mitchell, Jr., Chelsea Mitchell, Megan Robertson, John T. "Bub" Mitchell, Jr., Kalissa Purvis and Gracie Lynn Mitchell; and his great grandchild Avery Brewer.
