She was predeceased by: her father Fred Louis Pentecost; and her uncle Charles Pentecost. She is survived by: her husband Ronald Hockensmith; her sons, Jeremy Hockensmith, Thomas Hockensmith (Whitley) and Nathan Hockensmith (Mallory); her mother Elizabeth Ball Pentecost; and her siblings, Fred Lynn Pentecost (Helen) and Jan Marie Pentecost. She is also survived by six grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and many nieces and nephews.
