He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Lawson and Olean Lawson (Crabtree); and his siblings, Margie McDonald and Maxie Lawson. He is survived by: his wife Janice Lawson (Proffitt) of Fountain Run; his daughters, Connie (Todd Pruitt) and Celeste (Paul Shearer); his grandchildren, Caleb Pruitt (Leah) of Greensboro, Erin Pruitt of Charlotte and Presley Anne Shearer of Franklin, TN; his great grandchild Hadley Pruitt of Charlotte; his sister Shirley Pruitt of Douglasville, GA; and his sisters-in-law, Linda Gordon of Louisville, KY and Pat Proffitt of Gamaliel, KY. He is also survived by many extended family & friends.
