He is survived by: his wife Patty Wachter; his son Shawn Bay; his stepdaughter Tammy Cox; his stepgrandchildren, Alysia Cox, Brandon Riley and Brandon Fite; and his siblings, Carl Bay Sr and Linda Bay. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
